Caitlin Foster is a VFX Producer at Herne Hill Media.
What makes a good coworker?
I like to think I’m approachable and make myself available to others when they need help. I like to learn and understand the processes involved a creative or technical decision so I can communicate better between departments.
What is your favourite movie?
Not a fair question for our line of work! It depends on the day, and the genre or the mood I’m going for. I’m also a TV series over movies kind of person. Usually anything Sci-fi / Fantasy with a healthy dose of Teen Drama. Chances are, if The CW produced it, I’ve seen it and am obsessed with it.
If you could have a super power, which would you choose?
To be able to understand and communicate in any language.
What kind of coffee / hot drink do you like?
Americano or Flat White – but really, if it’s hot & caffeinated, I’ll drink it.
What led you to work in this field? Or someone who inspired you in your career?
I remember watching the Resident Evil “Making Of” featurettes and cast commentary on repeat when I was a kid and thinking how cool it would be to be a part of something like that. Then, when I started cutting class to go watch Pirates of the Caribbean – I knew I had to find a way to work in the industry. I’m constantly inspired by the artists around me. I love finding out that someone I work with worked on a show that I love and getting to geek out about it with them. Representation matters. I want to help tell stories and create worlds that I wish I had seen more of when I was a kid!
